Tashi Delek! A very warm welcome to Ngagyur Nyingmapa Buddhism Centre. Our centre was founded in 2002 by our spiritual leader, Yango Rinpoche, and came to realization with the help of a diverse group of people who practice Tibetan Buddhism and aspired to lead a life of compassion. Background Also known as the 'White Sangha', 'Old School' or Ngkapa, Nyingmapa stems from Padmasambhava, an Indian Buddhist who is credited with bringing Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. This school relies on very early esoteric scriptures known as tantras and places a good deal of emphasis placed on meditation. [ref] Mission a Tibetan Buddhist temple -- to make available both the introductory and in-depth Buddhist teachings, primarily in the Nyingmapa tradition, in a manner that is accessible to the modern community. a community centre -- to provide community services to people in need; to care for their physical and mental well-being regardless of their religious and culture orientations. a charity institution -- to support and raise fund for the charitable activities and development of education facilities. Plans are underway to help fund a Dharma school project in Tibet. Governance |
