From age of 5 to 15, he stayed in Ngedon Phelgyling Monastery where he completed his ritual and Buddhist Philosophical studies. He took a role of Bhikshu from the abbot Pema Palden. At the age of 16, he went to the Monastery University of Dzogchen Shrising and received teachings from the great abbot Dawa Wodzer with regard to the Madyamika Philosophy, such as Madyamika Avatra composed by Chandrakriti, a chedjug by great scholars such as Mipham and others. At the Monastery University, he was prized by all of his intellectual ability. At the age of 25, he went to Nepal with the main objective of helping others. While there, he stayed at the Ngeden Phelgyeling Monastery in Kathmandu teaching other young monks. The years that follow his stay at the Ngeden Phelgyeling Monastery took him to several countries around Asia including Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Taiwan. These visits enabled him to spread his teachings of Budhism. In 2002, he arrived in Malaysia and a year later founded a Tibetan Buddhist centre – Nyingmapa Buddhism Centre. Currently, he is working on a project to raise funds to build a Dharma school in Tibet. This school, which will be built next to a temple, will be used in several ways but its primary objective is to function as an education centre for young monks. At the present moment, the monks attend different schools far away from their homes. In addition, Yango Rinpoche has further future plans to expand the school to include an old folks home and a hospital. These plans will only be possible if enough funds are available. Please join Yango Rinpoche in realizing this honerable mission. You can find out more about the project on our Dharma School project page. |
